PRODUCTION FACILITIES - KARACAÖREN

Antalya Balik has two raising rainbow trout (Orchorcynchus mykiss) production complex within the dam lake of Karacaören -1. The units have consequetive capacities of 850 and 950 metric tons. The lake is located in the sub-department of Bucak within the borders of Burdar province of Turkey.The total annual capacity of the Karacaören 1 complexes is 1.800 metric tons.

The first production complex with the capacity of 850 tons/year:

Covers a surface of 17.000 sqm. There are 29 off-shore cages with 16 meter diameter. The capacity is 3.400.000 fingerlings.

The second production complex with the capacity of 950 tons/year:

Covers a surface of 22.000 sqm. There are 24 off-shore cages with 20 meter diameter. The capacity is 3.800.000 fingerlings.

The established cage system is mooling cages. Fish raising activities are accomplished between the months of November-May according to the water temperature (14-17) with 22 workers. The capacity is 1800 metric tons of portion rainbow trout .

The production is made with respect to the Eurepgap/Globalgap (Good Agricultural Practices Standard).The complex is the first and unique complex in the world which has been certified by the Global Gap for rainbow trout farming.
